Formado em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade do Minho onde obteve o mestrado integrado em 2008. Em 2014 e 2015 complementa a sua formação académica com Mestrado em Reabilitação de Construções Históricas na Universidade de Pádua e Universidade politécnica da Catalunha.
Com a maioria da sua vida profissional dedicada ao estudo das estruturas, percorre um alargado espectro de tipologias de projeto aos quais se dedicavam as diferentes empresas por onde passou antes da KN Engenharia, nomeadamente a ‘Afaconsult’, onde desenvolveu obras públicas e privadas de grande dimensão principalmente em betão armado, a ‘bysteel’ do ‘dstgroup’, onde se dedicou quase em exclusivo às estruturas metálicas mais relevantes e a KN Engenharia que se tende a focar nos casos divergentes do mercado comum, dedicando uma especial atenção à inspeção, diagnóstico e reparação de patologias estruturais.
Dando seguimento a uma curiosidade inata, complementou a carreira com alguma investigação científica intercalada na carreira profissional e académica, tendo uma atitude de busca de soluções de conceção diferenciadas que servem de apoio ao esforço na otimização de estruturas.
Atualmente é membro da ordem dos engenheiros com o n.º 062770.
